The Friends of Your Home Public Library in Johnson City will hold a Book Sale on Saturday, January 21 from 9 AM to 2PM. Most items sell for 25 cents each.

A Bag Sale will begin at Noon: buy a paper bag for $2 and fill it up!

Christmas in Camelot

YHPL presents Christmas in Camelot – based on the Magic Tree House Book by Mary Pope Osborn.

Saturday, December 31 at 1:00 PM – designed for ages 6 to 9.

Join us as we read from the book, follow the clues to a stash of treasure, and make a craft. There is no fee, but space is limited and registration is required. Contact the library at (607) 797-4816 to register. Please register by Friday, December 30th.

Winter Storytimes!

Join us for two Winter Storytimes:

Tuesday, December 27 @6:30 PM – we’ll feature books and activities on ice and snow and all things cold.

Thursday, December 29 @ 10 AM – enter the wonderful world of penguins.

Storytimes will feature books, crafts, rhymes, and activities suitable for children aged 3-5. Caregivers should plan to stay for the fun. Both programs are free and no registration is needed. Contact the Children’s Librarian for more information at (607) 797-4816.

Free Knit & Crochet Classes Return (Classes Full!)

Back by popular demand, YHPL will offer free Knit and Crochet classes at the library. The classes will meet on Saturdays from October 1 to November 12 (skipping October 22).

The Crochet Classes will meet from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM.

The Knit Classes will meet from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM.

All classes will be held in the library’s upstairs dining room.

The classes are free, but due to high demand, registration is required. To register, contact the library at (607) 797-4816.

Join us for a book discussion focused on a spooky classic! On Thursday, October 20 at 6:30 PM, YHPL will host a book discussion program on The Turn of the Screw, by Henry James.

The Turn of the Screw has been described by many critics as the most sophisticated and terrifying ghost story in the English language. It is considered one of the great intellectual “spook tales” of all time.
